3 Nonnegotiables for the expansion of a growth-mindset
Be responsible: we could almost stop right here. George Bernard Shaw said, “We are made wise not by the recollection of the past, but by the responsibility of the future.” It’s scarier to take responsibility than it is to give blame. But in the long run, you are the only one responsible for what you learn.
Be responsive: the idea that knowledge is power is not completely true. Knowledge is fuel, but unless it is put to use, the majority of it will evaporate. What is left is useless. Why would you accept the responsibility to learn, but not to apply? John P. Strelecky said, “Results come from what you know, not just knowing.” Having knowledge and being willing are awesome traits, right up until the time you fail to respond.
Be reflective: A daily event: daily event, should be to pause and reflect. Are you accepting the responsibility of today? Have you applied what you know? Are you learning from what you’ve done? It’s a cycle.
"Follow effective action with quiet reflection. From the quiet reflection will come even more effective action."
- Peter F. Drucker
Be responsible, responsive, and reflective. Everyday, every single day .
